This meeting will be of most interest to the citizens and businesses in West Elkton. There sewer rates were raised to $69.15 per month with Resolution 164 and this amounts to a $3.65 per month increase. Last week Preble Shawnee officials and citizens were in Chambers to offer their views against an increase. The reasons put forth by Randy Gilbert appear valid for an increase. One issue is declining number of users. Mentioned here for the first time was the likelihood of Preble Shawnee closing the elementary school after the 2012-2013 school year. This would cause a dramatic increase in rates for the remaining users with a rate of possibly $92 per month.
