HEALTH INSURANCE RENEWAL MEETING

6 Minute mark   194 people on the plan.

Total premium for month of June was $186,000.

Medical claims for month of June were $253,000.

Year to date payout through June was 102%.  Insurer would normally like to see that around the 75% range.

For the last two years more has been paid out in claims than received in premium.

8 Minute mark  Original United Health Care increase was stated to be 21.7% increase.  United Health Care notes that county loss ratio is 112%. They looked at a full 12 month period, starting July 1, 2010.

Five claims that are considered large and of an ongoing nature. Four of those have hit the $100,000 pooling point.

10.5 Minute mark    Large claimant report. One claimant over $300,000.

One brain cancer.

One colon cancer.

One back issue.

One premature child.

Those five claims totaled over $850,000.

Commissioner Wesler on conversation with Dick Bair, they were putting in a tornado siren in Gratis Township. Permit was $77 an inspection would be another $180. NIC handles inspections.


Chad reviews other entities (8) since March that have paid the fees. No one else complained.

Connie – When the county builds they have to pay it.

2 hr.  16 Minute mark    Commissioner Stonecash – attended the COC meeting yesterday, which had the do with the HIT Foundation and Mental Health and JFS and all this. For housing for the less fortunate I guess. Not very much to report other than everybody seems to be doing their job.

Commissioner Day – Monday the groundbreaking for the Historical Society was very well attended. I think just about everyone with a state office attended. Very nice event.

Commissioner Wesler – Yes it was. Looking forward to seeing that project continue on and watch the building of it.

Commissioner Day – It will be a great asset to the community.

Commissioner Stonecash – All three of us attended the 4H banquet to…. full house. One hundred twenty five new 4H members this year.
