There is an insulting tone to this meeting that is attributable to only one Commissioner and that is Bob Stonecash. At the 31 minute mark Bob felt compelled to speak when it came time for Public Comments. Here is that comment:
Commissioner Stonecash – “I have a comment. I would like to invite the public to attend our meetings so they know what is going on. First hand rather than through someone else's interpretation. There are a lot of good things that are going on in Preble County.”
If Bob truly wants people to know what is going on with the Preble County Commission then do what the Village of New Paris does and record the meetings to video. This county has a record amount of money in the General Fund. So Bob, put up or just admit you like the idea of complaining about someone else’s interpretation as a means of deflecting the obvious incompetence that has characterized much of the last three years with regard to actions you were party to. I’ll even make the offer to put the video on youtube where people can watch at their own leisure. This is an issue that has come up before but it won’t be dealt with because Bob is all hot air or it would have been addressed long ago. I don’t offer reviews of the New Paris meetings because people have the ability to scroll ahead to the areas they want and not only hear but also view what is going on. The people of this county deserve no less.
Let me give readers an example of the growing level of BS attributable to this commission.
Here is File 5 from the December 5, meeting this week. The audio has been adjusted up as far as it will go and the audio still stinks.
This is File 10A from January 20, 2010.
The audio from both meetings was recorded in the same Commission Chamber at the same conference table. If anything I probably adjusted the audio of the January 2010 meeting to high. I have no direct knowledge that the audio level has been tampered with to make it harder to hear but it is now a regular occurrence when meetings are held at that table.
It is time the Preble County Commission record to video every meeting and if this commission won't do it then the people should elect one that will.
