Of concern from this meeting is the mentioning again of raising the Landfill Assessment on the Citizens of Preble County. Tonnage is down and the county is not cutting employees at the landfill and even continues consideration of building a new $750,000 Administrative building. These people live in a make believe land of bottomless taxpayer pockets. If this assessment is needed then it reinforces the reasons for the leachate line going to Camden and through an area likely to raise input tonnage to the Preble County Landfill. This is an area prime for not only industrial development but the jobs that would follow.

.25 minute mark Noted that Richmond is backing off similar plan at Richmond Landfill because they did not think it was worth it.
minute mark Discussion on building a new $750,000 building at the landfill
.5 minute mark Building currently at landfill will apparently need moved. Commissioners Stonecash and Day appear to be leaning toward it while Commissioner Wesler is questioning the cost. Welser mentions that cost was for an administrative only building and had no mention of an inexpensive pole barn to work on equipment which is needed and would presumably be an additional cost on top of the $750,000. Unacceptable cost. Earlier this year it was mentioned that the landfill assessment may need to be increased. The County Engineer even tried leveraging this future building as being multi-purpose and available to the public. We do not need an extravagantly costly building or the public wandering around in the evening at the landfill. These people are playing with the public's money.
.75 minute mark Despite previous exchange and protestation the motion for MOU passes 3 – 0.
