Last night I attended a meeting held at the Extension Office on the priorities and needs of the Preble County Fairgrounds with regard to spending an $875,000 grant. The meeting lasted some two hours and is split into two videos. Part one has an architect review and part two is a Q&A/Suggestion area with the public and board members from the Fair board & Pork Fest. If you have an interest in this topic the videos are worth a review.
Some of the suggestions were tear down, upgrade the horse barn stalls or the possibility of building a new barn to hold more horses as a source of income. Warren County was mentioned as making $500,000 a year from housing horses. A handout was passed around and I have included a .jpeg of that as well as a link to the news story.
Story in the March 6, 2013 Dayton Business Journal article on Miami Valley Gaming donation of $3 million to help redevelop the Warren County Fairgrounds horse racing track.
