I attended today’s May 6, County Dispatch Presentation held at 1:30 p.m. in the Preble County Commission Chambers. It was a well attended meeting. There will be a 1.5 mill levy on the ballot in November to establish a dedicated funding stream to pay for a combined dispatch center at the Sheriff’s Department. As mentioned the state is moving toward one dispatch center per county unless there is a city with a population over 100,000. I have also added two sets of figures that were being used during the meeting. Multiple sets of figures floating around the commission cannot be good when it comes to convincing taxpayers to part with more of their money. Everybody involved should have the most current figures before a meeting and also time to have read them.
