This meeting opens with another edition of the ever popular six year reviews.  I won’t ruin the anticipation by reviewing it and have viewers destroying the leisure time enjoyment of so many others who look forward to these excitement filled meetings.  (May require headphones)

Pat Holmes of Preble County OSU Extension was in to update Commissioner Stonecash and Day.   Pat informed the commissioners that despite rumors the office had not added a bunch of employees. They have been fortunate to be getting volunteers.  Pat has one 20hr. a week employee and if one or both are sick or as an example when Pat comes to a Commission meeting, the office must be closed. She is doing her best with limited funds and resources to provide all four areas of Extension.  (May require headphones)

21.5 minute mark    Pat – Connie called and mentioned that she thought I had hired a bunch of people. I haven't hired a bunch people its just name – Nancy?? at 20 hrs. a week and myself. If anyone is seeing a bunch of people it is because there is a bunch of volunteers. Whenever there is a staff member in the office we can use volunteers. If, I am over here that means the office is closed.

23 minute mark    Pat – almost two months behind on our start date. What we have come up with is that there will be one FTE that we will bring in to do the work of that grant because now it compacts..I was going to be 28 hrs. A week average out for the full year and that almost becomes an impossible situation. We are going to bring in somebody who would be laid-off. A grant stipulation of Recovery Act Dollars used to save jobs. So we will be calling back for part of the hours the secretary that we had to let or lay-off.
