Of note the CVB has finally added a representative from the Ag Society. This was an issue I and others brought up multiple times in the discussions with the county commissioners leading up to the creation of the CVB Board. This action was long over due. It is my opinion that the Fairgrounds generates more out of county visitors than the rest of whatever the top ten attractions are combined. I also think that Mike Zimmerman should be a good addition to the Board. Good luck to Manfred with the Labor Day concert at the Fairgrounds.

PREBLE CO. CVB QUARTERLY UPDATE
Stephanie Garrett presents.
Sharon Smith continues to do the Facebook page.
Stephanie working with webmaster to make the website more user friendly. Compared to other CVB websites Preble County's is poorly laid out.
Plan to have 11,000 Visitors Guides with deadline by the end of the month, will be put out at the Expo in April.
Will now meet at the conference room at the Preble Chamber.
Plan to update the Covered Bridge Brochure. Will have a photo contest to use photos. $250 for the winner – Best of show. Professional & amateur categories.
Been talking to Manfred Schreyer who is doing a music festival on Labor Day weekend at the Fairgrounds. Expected to be a large event with $5 per ticket to go back to the Ag Society. Will be using local vendors.
Tire amnesty is scheduled the same day as the Expo.
Marsha Glenn has resigned from the CVB Board. Would like to nominate Mike Zimmerman (with Preble County District Library) as a member at large. James Mays to represent the Preble County Agricultural Society.

Dayton Development Coalition is having a meeting at 3:00 on Monday, January 26.
48.25 Minute mark Commissioner Creech – We had our second meeting last night with the Twin & Lanier townships with the EPA regarding the Glenwood ecoli issue. Randy Gilbert is also in the room. Rodney feels the EPA does not what the source is but plans to proceed with a million dollar solution to a problem that has not been identified. Rodney feels that he and Township officials know where the problem is but they just don't want to listen. Committees were formed for input but they don't want to listen to the input. "Frustrated to say the least." Mention that long term it will be a good thing – 240 homes will have to tie in. A new septic system would cost a home owner $20,000. MVRPC is involved and there is a pool of money that is used for this. The EPA originally pulled four samples and won't pull anymore samples. One home owner just put in an $8,000 system two years ago and he will be forced to tie into it.
Meeting dates:
April 21 at 6:00 at the Twin Township House.
Second meeting is not yet firm but scheduled May 12 at 6:00 without a location at this time.
54.75 Minute mark Commissioner Day contacted Steve Pope on his interest in serving on a Zoning Board but he feels it might be a conflict.
56 Minute mark Connie asks Commissioner Robertson if she talked to Scot Young about building & zoning fees?
Denise asked him for fees in comparably sized counties. She does not feel there is any justification for some of the fee increases except that area counties charge the higher fees. I agree with her.
