Winter Conference – New commissioner will not be attending the winter conference they will be receiving two days training.
Bob feels it would be a good time for a meet and greet and I agree with Bob. The issue here is that there are two seats up in November and for whatever reason they apparently feel that Chris's seat is safe as it appears only one (Bob's) was a question. Listen to the audio file and see what you think.

45.5 Minute mark David comments that the private sector had not kept pace with the government sector. Recommends holding tight on raises this year.

Second year in three year contract with union.
Chris Day agrees with holding things flat.
Budget commission has recommended slightly less certificated funds for next year.
Bob goes along.
50.5 Minute mark Auditor estimates $370,000 from casino tax.
52 Minute mark Bob Stonecash asks about those departments that had retirements and did not fill those positions – Does that money come off of their budget? Good question.
Connie – It has and it hasn't for some departments.
David – That is a problem all over the state…. A lot of counties do take it back.
55 Minute mark Chris Day asks how it is dealt with.
This issue and some departments defying the request to not give pay raises has been a recurring one that this commission has previously lacked the will to address. I'll refer readers to December 15, 2010. It is an ongoing shell game that should have been addressed a long time ago. Some departments have other income sources than money from the General Fund.
