At the 3.6 minute mark the Preble County Commissioners paid off the $370,199.60 remaining amount on the loan at Goose Creek Crossing. While that should hopefully close the books on the issue there is still one very troubling fact remaining; the largest web presence on the Preble County Economic Development website is still dedicated to Goose Creek Crossing. There is only one reason to put something like that on the Internet and it is the hope someone will find it. It is deceitful and misleading to perspective site developers when their first impression of Preble County is based on a defunct, dead and frankly a fictional location. The Goose Creek website is full of outright lies about the utilities and infrastructure. Did the web developer even know where Preble County is? I mean seriously there is a page that states: Preble County is considered the center of a "metroplex" that connects Dayton and Cincinnati, providing two nearby international airports and a population of more than 3.1 million within an hour's drive. Springboro might have a claim to being between Dayton and Cincinnati but Preble County does not. If this is the way Preble County is being marketed then the person responsible should be fired. The Preble County Commission maintains a $100,000 in kind contribution to the funding of the Preble County Development Partnership and the public should demand reconsideration of that expense if this type of marketing continues.
File 5 puts the 2013 Preble County budget at $10,197,796.97.
