Decent meeting. File 4 has Manfred Schreyer in to discuss the lease agreement for the upcoming Eatonic Music Festival over Labor Day weekend. Manfred expressed that everyone he has worked with has been helpful. I feel everyone is hoping this is a successful event that becomes an annual festival and Manfred even mentioned next year. An event like this puts Eaton and Preble County in the spot light and can have positive economic influence.
I will draw attention though to Rodney Creech asking a question on the expectation of 3,000-5000 people showing up turning into possibly 15,000 people showing up and; what about extra bathrooms? Manfred expressed that bathrooms are a very critical part of this and also showers. The need for showers and bathrooms was brought up in this video from the June 10, 2015 “Public Comments” at the Preble County Commission. This short video clip from the June 18, 2015
Fair Board meeting has Rodney making a suggestion for what people needing a bathroom can do – use Bruner or find a truck.
I fully agree with anyone who says that bathrooms and showers would be unlikely to have been built in time for this festival. If you listen to this audio file the hope is that there will be second festival next year. Showers and bathrooms at the Expo have been a request by users for some time as the building rents for $1,000 a day.
