File 3

Discussion on console issue for city of Eaton & County. Commissioner Robertson spoke with the Sheriff and possibility of County buying 2 consoles and city buying one as a team effort. Discussion on issue – 911 dispatch and money collected for it – 911 funds.

Commissioner Robertson mentions reading applicable ORC code.

Commissioner Wesler says that a lot of counties have already done so and that he does not have a problem with using the 911 funds for the purchase of two consoles.

Listen to the audio.

26.1 Minute mark    Total cost for three consoles was previously put at $327,000 if part of a contract with Montgomery County.

Commissioner Day feels the cost from his memory was $50,000 – $60,000.

Connie mentions a pricing sheet from P&R Communications.

Commissioner Day questions if the money can be used for that, mentions what has been previously been put before commission. Conflicting opinions.

32 Minute mark    Commissioner Wesler feels they should get the three while the deal is available and then have the city reimburse for the one.

Question on if city will do so knowing that if the county already has purchased all three.

34 Minute mark    Need to have conversation with the Sheriff on what expenses are coming out of the 911 fund to see how much money is available for purchase of consoles with county possibly picking up the difference from the General Fund. It sounds like the current amount in the 911 fund is shy of the $327,000 purchase price.

34.75 Minute mark   Commissioner Day feels the Sheriff is the one in charge of that fund. That is also my memory.

Commissioner Robertson feels the Commissioners are in charge of the money.

City meets Monday evening.

36 Minute mark    Commissioner Day would also like to talk about radios.

42 Minute mark   $242,509.20 for radios…

44 Minute mark   Commissioner Wesler suggests waiting until next week to see if Commissioner Robertson can get answers to some questions. VHS radios and jail.

45.5 Minute mark    Question on how many vehicles the county has and need for so many radios.
