9:30 A.M. – CVB QUARTERLY MEETING

David Maynard – Vice Chairman of the CVB presents.

Listen to the audio.  

The CVB is an all volunteer group and the volunteers are to be thanked for their time. Lodging facilities in Preble County are tasked with collection of a 13.25% sales tax because of it. Jefferson Township – New Paris and Israel Township have their own CVBs. In additon to what the County collects from the rest of the county the County Commission approved a $75,000 request from the County CVB for promotion.   Dave mentions an in ability to quantify how much positive impact the CVB has with bringing additional business into the county. As a person with a business that collects the tax I have never had anyone from any Preble CVB ask any questions on positive or negative impact regarding the tax. I'd be interested to hear and I hope some businesses can attest to a positive impact.

Commissioner Day does not know why Rodney left.

Commissioner Robertson says she heard him ask Julie (acting clerk) if she knew he was leaving between 10:00 & 11:00.
