Preble County has the most expensive landfill in the state. You pay high fees for trash pick-up, dumping it yourself at the land fill and on top of those there is an exorbitant “land assessment” is attached to you property taxes.  It has been a couple years since the county commission instructed the landfill engineer to come up with a plan to take in some out of county trash to help offset the dropping tonnage received at the county landfill. There has been a pop-fund scandal and well let’s just say that my opinion is this process should not have taken this darn long.

The rates need adjustment because currently they are so high that no trash hauler will bring trash to the Preble County landfill.  They need to be lowered to attract that business.
