Plein air painters can hone their skills this summer during a one day workshop at the Visual Arts Center of Preble County.   Ray Hassard, a national recognized artist from Cincinnati, will be teaching the workshop on Saturday, July 19th.

The workshop will begin at 8 am with optional coffee and snacks at the Art Center in Eaton where students can view the Pastel Invitational exhibit (which includes works by Ray) before heading out to the Preble County Historical Society in Gratis.  There Ray will conduct the workshop from 9am to 4:30 pm.  The grounds of the Historical Society include an amphitheater with a view of wetlands, wildflowers and planted gardens, and historic buildings including a log house.  Ray will be working in pastel, but oils and water-based media are also welcome and a supply list will be provided.

The cost of the workshop is $75 for Preble County Art Association members (annual membership is only $25!) and $95 for non-members and includes lunch.  Registration is limited to 15 students.  Students can register by calling the Art Center at (937) 456-3999 or emailing at office@takepartinart.net.
