Observations from the County Commission race…..
 

Winner:  

Commissioner Denise Robertson who just turned the Preble County Liberty Group into a successful populist revolt against the Preble County Republican Party Central Committee that arrogantly endorsed her opponent.  Think about it for a minute; The once powerful Republican Central Committee & FOP endorsements are now about worthless and both groups might want to consider why that is.  The Preble County Liberty Group’s next meeting is 7:00 p.m. April 18 at the Preble County Engineer’s building and the public is always welcome.

Winner:

The people of Preble County who stood up and rejected the group think of the Republican establishment. The re-election of Robertson speaks to the need of an independent minded Commissioner that searches out the real facts on issues.

Winner: 

The Preble County Liberty Group.  The Liberty Group is now the only political opposition group in Preble County.

Winner:

William Yorke who hounded Rodney Creech so much on Facebook that Rodney unfriended him.

Losers:

The Preble County Republican Central Committee and their endorsement.  

FOP endorsement.

The Preble County Democratic Party which had as many candidates on the ballot as Hueston Woods has Unicorns (maybe fewer).  Is there a Democratic Party in Preble County?

Biggest Loser:

Rodney Creech the junior Commissioner who spent a record amount of money to get elected commissioner in 2014 and then proceeded to pretty much lead the attempt to replace a popular commissioner.  Leadership is not bought with money and if this election showed anything it proved that.  The people as shown by their votes are on to Rodney and if he turns around and takes a look there are far more people behind her. Two years ago a lot of people had high hopes for him, two more years provide time to turn it around but they go by fast.
