I should be out mowing grass but there is an issue involving me that needs addressed.

Two more commission flyers in the mail today and both were for Dave Wesler.  I walked down and got the mail early because I had a call from a friend on the one about; “Warning” and Rodney raising taxes. 

The picture of Rodney used in that flyer and the YouTube video address is from a video I made at the last Liberty Group meeting.  The video was in color but someone took a screen shot, cropped it and made it black and white.  My first thought was that it looked like a mug shot, my second thought was; I know where that came from as I was telling Rodney my view on the License plate tax and recognized the look.  As stated in the video (that is my voice) I disagree with Rodney on the issue.

To be clear – Rodney still claims it is a fee, I claim it is a tax and the flyer claims it is a tax. I feel that of the few issues the two candidates have taken a stand on that this is the only real difference.  That is my view not theirs.

Both candidates were invited but only Rodney showed up and took questions.  I do not have an issue with someone or a campaign using my videos as I do make them public by checking the “public” option on the Youtube video manager.  It would have been nice to have it attributed to the source (myself or CFPCTV) and that did not occur.  I have attached a picture I was emailed for comparison of the impact of using black & white compared to the actual color.  My view is the color should have been used and the video attributed to the source.   I am speculating that the reason for two flyers on the same day is for the comparison of the black & white mug shot look to a color picture of Dave in a suit. It may impact the perception of the two candidates by those unfamiliar with them.  Professional looking Dave vs. Rodney wanting old peoples tax money.  Striking contrast but that is not the way Rodney looked. 

I realize both Wesler & Creech want to be elected and Tuesday is Election Day.  I have stated my issues with the recent Creech ad on Goose Creek and told Rodney my views on the issue.  I don’t recall having spoken with Dave since a Chamber meeting that I actually sat with Rodney at. Anyone is free to watch or review my videos and I have encouraged many to do so.  I want to be clear though – I did not approve the altering of my video or its use.  Had I been asked I would have allowed it in color and required attribution.
